Senior Manager/Supervisor
Supports policies and procedures to ensure optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Directs training of supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for Facility and HVAC projects.

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair of all HVAC equipment at all campuses of The Potter’s House to ensure that all equipment and materials are sufficiently kept in optimal working order. This includes the maintenance of the McQuay chiller system. Install, maintain, and repair computerized electric pneumatic and digital direct control devices related to HVAC, heat control, such as fan coil units, Air Handlers, change filters, motors, belts etc.
  • Ensure that members of the FM team fully understand their role(s) and carry out regular operational reviews with both individuals and the team, focusing efforts to ensure the FM dashboards are kept up to date and delivering a high performing team.
  • Ensure that financial, productivity and safety targets are met and managed according to expectations. Provide input and suggestions regarding Building and Grounds improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with the real estate and operations teams to support build-out planning, and facilities commissioning.
  •  Ability to execute independent decision-making skills, and to competently
    plan and lead the work of subordinate employees.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction and renovation projects.
    for all properties as it relates to the areas of HVAC.
  • Compile annual operations budget information for The Potter’s House.
  • Arrange for the purchase of necessary supplies, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors and staff concerning external
    contract installations, repairs, or maintenance as needed.
  • Respond to emergency after-hours calls and be on site during
    emergencies if necessary.
  • Must have a high commitment level
    and flexible availability to be on site for various events, all
    Sunday morning worship services, various meetings, etc., as requested.
  • Possess the ability to work and communicate with fellow employees and the public harmoniously, effectively, and courteously.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, HVAC and schedules/plans preventive and corrective maintenance for facilities.
  • Ability to develop and adhere to schedules.
  • Ability to maintain records, make recommendations and prepare reports.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Respond to and complete work requests for problems with the HVAC units or systems. 
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs to heating and direct expansion HVAC systems, electrical wiring related to HVAC equipment, soldering or welding of Freon or water lines, replacing HVAC components of units, and replacing complete HVAC units.
  • Participate actively in established safety programs designed to provide a safe work environment. Ensure that work is performed safely in accordance with Ministry
    safety procedures.
  • Maintain a parts inventory for common maintenance and repairs.
  • Be able to delegate work requests to subordinates, per incoming work orders and preventative maintenance work orders.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Develop and evaluate professional technical trades of the HVAC staff and assign training and coaching as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years in multi-city Facilities operations and management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems & maintenance (HVAC, fire life safety, lighting, electrical, plumbing, EV charging stations, etc.)
  • EPA Certification Required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be registered with TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation).
  • OSHA 10 Certification required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with chill water and hot water heating and cooling units.
  • Previous experience with refrigerated chilling systems
  • Previous experience directly related to direct expansion air conditioning and gas-fired heating systems
  • Previous experience with HVAC energy management programs and systems
  • Ability to execute Quality Control - In the context of HVAC, quality control refers to the procedures and practices implemented to ensure that a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system is designed, installed, and maintained according to defined standards and specifications, ultimately ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and safety.
 Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Heavy lifting, 45 to 70 lbs.

  • Reaching above the shoulder
  • Simple grasping, walking, standing, sitting, crawling, twisting, pushing, stooping, climbing stairs, climbing ladders
  • Good depth perception
  • Ability to hear well with aid, or without aid.
  • Duties are performed indoors and outdoors at all facilities through all weather conditions.
  • Climbing and working at varied heights. Some heights are extremely elevated.
  • The ability to identify colors with aid or without.

Schedule:
  • 8-hour shift
  • On call flexible availability when needed.
  • Present on site every Sunday morning (excluding per scheduled PTO).
