The Intelligence Analyst Specialist is a critical member of the Security & Risk Management team, responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence to support the safety and resilience of organizational personnel, programs, and partners. Working within a dynamic non-profit environment, the incumbent will monitor global security developments and emerging risks, providing timely and actionable insights to support informed decision-making and ensure the continuity of humanitarian and development operations in high-risk or fragile contexts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, evaluate, and analyze open-source and partner-provided intelligence relevant to organizational operations, including but not limited to political instability, armed conflict, criminal activity, terrorism, and cyber threats.
  • Produce clear, concise, and actionable threat assessments, incident alerts, risk briefs, and regional reports tailored to internal stakeholders, including field teams, senior leadership, and program managers.
  • Monitor real-time developments and support organizational readiness and crisis response efforts by providing situational awareness and impact assessments during emergencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external security networks, including peer NGOs,
  • UN security coordination bodies, and civil society coalitions, to enhance information sharing and situational understanding.
  • Maintain and enhance intelligence systems and databases, including geospatial mapping tools, early warning indicators, and incident tracking platforms.
  • Ensure that all intelligence-gathering and reporting activities adhere to ethical standards, data protection regulations, and organizational principles of neutrality, impartiality, and transparency.
  • Support the development and delivery of threat awareness and security training materials for field staff and implementing partners.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization’s security risk management framework through trend analysis and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Intelligence Analysis, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an intelligence or security analysis role, preferably in the non-profit, humanitarian, or development sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in monitoring and analyzing global security and geopolitical developments, particularly in conflict-affected or high-risk regions.
  • Proficiency with open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools, data visualization platforms, and intelligence mapping software (e.g., GIS).
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong commitment to the mission, values, and ethical standards of non-profit and humanitarian work, including cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in or supporting operations in fragile, conflict, or disaster-prone settings.
  • Familiarity with international NGO security coordination mechanisms (e.g., INSO, GISF, UNDSS).
  • Multilingual skills and/or regional expertise relevant to the organization’s programmatic footprint.
  • Understanding digital and information security risks affecting civil society organizations.
